Pawleys Island, SC – February 11, 2019 – The Lachicotte Company is pleased to announce that Carrie Barnwell has joined the team as Director of Marketing. In this role, she will be responsible for conceiving and executing marketing strategies and tactics that drive growth for all divisions of the company. In addition, she will help overall brand development and messaging in the marketplace.

Carrie has more than 14 years of marketing experience, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from Coastal Carolina University. She started her career in marketing at an advertising firm in Myrtle Beach, concentrating on real estate and tourism marketing. She later moved to Florence, SC to work for a Fortune 1000 global manufacturing company where she held positions with increasing responsibility, managing their digital marketing communications department for the past 6 years.
A native of Pawleys Island, SC, Carrie is the granddaughter of Louis B. “Bumpy” Thompson, a beloved Pawleys Island pillar who was known for his integrity, dedication to family and friends, wearing loud pants, driving a yellow Excalibur convertible around town with his two Yorkies, his keen talent for whistling, a passion for the Lowcountry, and a vision for real estate. Bumpy was also a business partner of Doc Lachicotte’s in several business ventures over the years. Real estate is in Carrie’s blood. Carrie moved to the Northeast as a child, and returned to SC after high school. She and her husband, Damon, and two children recently moved back to the area after spending ten years in Florence, SC. Carrie has a passion for marketing and for finding creative ways to strategically align vision and goals with communications. In her spare time, Carrie is busy keeping up with her two toddlers, and enjoys time with family and friends, reading, the beach, and boating. “I have true love for this area and am excited to be able to help market such an amazing place close to my heart. I’m honored to be working with an established and growing local company with people who are truly passionate about what they do,” said Carrie Barnwell.
