    Local Experts to Hold Seminar on Homebuying Basics

    Pawleys Island, SC – Local experts in the homebuying process from the real estate, insurance, legal , and financial industries are coming together on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 6 pm at the Pawleys Island Tavern to present their “How to Buy A House” seminar, geared towards first time homebuyers and young adults aimed at providing insight into what to expect when buying a home.

    The event is the first of its kind in the Pawleys Island area and admission is free. The collective goal from the panel of local experts is to take the mystery out of the process of buying a home and to help prepare those who will be purchasing a home in the future. As this topic is not something taught in school, and buying a home is one of the most significant financial decisions a person can make, the panel seeks to bring this valuable knowledge to young adults and first-time buyers.

    The class will be presented by Robbie Buice, Realtor at The Lachicotte Company, Leigh Reid Hope, of First Trust Mortgage, David Gundling, of The Bellamy Law Firm, and Lisa Hutto, of Frank L. Siau Insurance Agency. Discussion topics include:

    • Robbie Buice of The Lachicotte Company will discuss the 13 Steps of shopping for a home;

    • Leigh Reid Hope, of First Trust Mortgage will discuss the financing aspects of qualifying and purchasing of a home;

    • David Gundling, of The Bellamy Law Firm will discuss closing procedures and legal aspects when buying a home; and

    • Lisa Hutto, of Frank L. Siau Insurance Agency will discuss the insurance needs when purchasing a new home.

    Admission is free. Seminar attendees will be treated to light appetizers and drinks by the crew at the PIT, and will be provided with informational handouts to take home for their reference.
